Today, the Florida Lottery (Lottery) announces that Brenda Holman, 68, of Headla;nd, AL claimed a $2 million prize from the POWERBALL® drawing held on December 31, 2022 at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. The winning POWERBALL with Power Play Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers but did not match the Power Ball number.
Holman shared with Lottery officials that she purchased her ticket on New Year’s Eve and was out on the dance floor enjoying the holiday when the draw took place. When Holman later discovered she was a $2 million-dollar winner, she couldn?t believe it. “It’s still sinking in, but with a grand-daughter getting ready to go to college, the timing couldn?t be better!”
Holman purchased her $2 million-winning POWERBALL with Power Play Quick Pick ticket from Fortune Liquors, located at 5878 Highway 231 in Campbellton. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The next POWERBALL drawing will be held Saturday at 10:59 p.m., ET, with an estimated $73 million jackpot. Tickets must be purchased by 10:00 p.m., ET to be eligible for this drawing.
