30 am, Dallas Police responded to the 2300 block of Pine Street for a shooting.
The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived they found 31-year-old Fredrick Grant, shot outside the home. Grant was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Further investigation identified the suspect who shot Grant as 55-year-old Joseph Jackson. Jackson was located by officers, taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.
On October 18, 2023, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office notified the DPD Homicide Unit that Fredrick Grant died on October 17, from his injuries.
The Aggravated Assault charge will be dropped and upgraded to Murder. Jackson remains in the Dallas County Jail.
