Dallas Police Investigate Homicide in the 4400 block of West Illinois Avenue.
On May 15, 2024, at about 1:30 am, Dallas Police responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of West Illinois Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they learned 32-year-old Cesar Avalos had been shot outside a business at the location. Avalos was taken by private vehicle to a local hospital where he died. The investigation is ongoing and documented under case number 075471-2024.
