20 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the 3500 block of Wilhurt Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined a child was riding in a vehicle when they were shot by the suspect. DFR responded and transported the child to a local hospital in critical condition.
On December 2, 2024, Davon Sewell, 18, and a juvenile were arrested in Dallas and charged with Aggravated Assault. Due to the suspect being a juvenile, their name will not be released.
On December 8, 2024, Jaden Watson, 18, was arrested by Balch Springs Pd. Watson was charged with Aggravated Assault.
On December 26, 2024, the child died from their injuries.
The Aggravated Assault charges have been dropped and upgraded to Capital Murder.
