35 p.m., Dallas police responded to a call for service in the 8500 block of S. Central Expressway. The preliminary investigation determined the driver and his passenger, 42-year-old Roberto Martinez-Gonzalez, were eastbound at 2800 E. Ledbetter Drive just before Bonnie View Road when the driver attempted to grab his cell phone, drifted, and hit the suspect’s truck. The unknown suspect pulled up next to them and shot both victims. The victims attempted to follow the suspect’s vehicle but stopped in the 8500 block of S. Central Expy.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victims to a local hospital. The driver is in stable condition and Martinez-Gonzalez died from his injuries.
This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 018423-2024.
