Dallas Police
45 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a welfare check in the 1700 block of Mentor Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found a man unresponsive on the ground outside of the home. Dallas Fire Rescue responded and found the man, 31-year-old Christopher Hawkins, had been shot. Hawkins died at the scene.
A search warrant was executed by the SWAT Unit. No one was located inside the home.
This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 042559-2024.
