Dallas Police
00 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the 9500 block of C. F. Hawn Freeway. The preliminary investigation determined officers found Juan Jose Prado, 22, shot inside his truck at the scene. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Further investigation by Homicide detectives identified Elijah Julius Valles, 18, as the person who shot and killed Prado.
Valles was taken to the Dallas County Jail and charged with Murder. This still an active investigation and will be documented on case number 043332-2023.
