Dallas Police Probe Elm Street Homicides

20 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2800 block of Elm Street. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived they found two victims, a man and woman, had been shot.

The preliminary investigation determined the male victim was on the patio of the business when he was approached by a unknown suspect who fired multiple shots, hitting the victim.

Further investigation showed one of the rounds fired went through the business window and hit the female victim standing inside.

The suspect ran northbound on Elm after the shooting. He is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, and last seen wearing a black hoodie with a design or lettering on the front, shorts, and a ski mask.

In addition, a third person was injured when he was hit by a bullet fragment. He was taken to a hospital by private vehicle with non-life threatening injuries.

The identities of the victims are not being released until family notifications can be made.

The investigation is ongoing and documented under case number 043979-2023.
