Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12600 South Dairy Ashford Road about 5:25 a.m. on Sunday (January 12).
The identity of the deceased male, 42, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Keita reported:
The male was driving a black Ford Expedition northbound near the above address when he lost control and drove on the raised concrete median. The Expedition then struck a concrete pillar, rolled and then caught on fire.
Houston Fire Department personnel arrived and extinguished the fire. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
