Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9000 West Loop South (West Interstate Highway 610 South) about 4:35 a.m. today.
The identity of the deceased male, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer T. Riley reported:
Witnesses stated the male, a pedestrian, was crossing the freeway main lanes crawling on his hands and knees near the above address. The driver of a black Honda Accord traveling southbound on the freeway attempted to avoid what he believed to be debris, but struck the male. A Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling southbound on the freeway also struck the male. Both drivers stopped and remained at the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. Neither driver exhibited signs of intoxication. Both were questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
