Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a male at 14833 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 9:50 p.m. on Monday (March 3).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing call at a hotel at the above address and found Houston Fire Department paramedics providing medical aid to a male with a stab wound. Paramedics transported the male to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
According to witnesses, a male known as “Alex” got into a verbal argument with the victim, which turned into a physical fight. During the fight, “Alex” stabbed the victim once with a knife and then fled the scene on foot.
“Alex” is described as being approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a slight build, chin-length curly dark and graying hair and a short beard. He is known to live in the area around the above address.
