Google has announced the release of its new Pixel 7 range of smartphones and its first Pixel Watch. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones will be available for pre-order starting on 13 October and can be purchased online from the Google Store or through authorized retailers and carriers. Both phones feature a sleek, sophisticated and durable design with an aluminum enclosure made of 100% recycled content. The Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch display and smaller bezels, while the Pixel 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch immersive display and a polished aluminum frame. Both phones are available in three colors: Snow, Obsidian and Lemongrass for the Pixel 7 and Snow, Obsidian and Hazel for the Pixel 7 Pro.
The Android 13 operating system on the Pixel 7 brings fast, smart and secure performance, as well as new style and customization capabilities. The phones also have improved speech recognition and a range of security features including a Titan M2 security chip, an under-display fingerprint reader and Face Unlock.
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have also been given camera upgrades including better zoom and macro photography tools and updated photo editing tools such as Photo Unblur, which can sharpen blurry images. Both phones are powered by the second generation Tensor G2 processor, Google’s own-made chip, which uses artificial intelligence to boost performance.
The Pixel Watch will also be available for purchase at a later date, with pricing and availability details to be announced. The new Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones are listed at $699 and $899 respectively.
