Dallas Police
10 p.m., Dallas Fire and Rescue responded to a call for a health and welfare check in the 3400 block of Mahanna Street.
The preliminary investigation determined DFR forced entry into the apartment and found 26-year-old Solmaira Vasquez Castillo in the bathroom, she had been stabbed.
DFR also found 38-year-old Hector Tovar Marquez unresponsive in a bedroom closet. Both died at the scene.
Further investigation determined Tovar Marquez had stabbed Vasquez Castillo, before committing suicide.
The victim and suspect were known to one another.
The investigation is ongoing and is documented under case numbers 108667-2024 and 108883-2024.
