Dallas Police
35 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call in the 700 block of W. Mockingbird Lane. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found 34-year-old Avery Norwood, beaten and unconscious at the location. Norwood was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
On August 21, 2024, Dallas Police were notified Norwood died from his injuries and the case was reassigned to the Homicide Unit.
There is no suspect information at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and is documented under case number 054020-2024.
