45 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 7800 block of Ferguson Road. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found 39-year-old Arvey Cruz Ortega, shot, and another man injured at the location. Ortega died at the scene from his injuries. The man was treated and released at the scene.
Further investigation determined, the suspect, 22-year-old Jonatan Espinoza, also assaulted four officers at the scene. There was no medical treatment needed for any officer.
Espinoza was arrested, taken to Dallas County Jail, and charged with one count of Murder, one count of Aggravated Assault-Deadly Weapon, and four counts of Assault Public Servant.
