On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at approximately 12:11 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 5600 block of Winslow Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined the victim, 30-year-old Nancy Aguilar, was shot while driving in the 5500 block of E. R L Thornton Freeway Access Road. When officers arrived, they found the victim in a vehicle with a single gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue responded. The victim died at the scene.
Further investigation by detectives determined the victim was involved in an incident while driving, and words were exchanged with two unknown black males in another vehicle. As both vehicles traveled eastbound in the 5500 block of E. R L Thornton Freeway, the suspects shot at the victim’s vehicle, hitting her. The victim then crashed into a retaining wall at 5606 Winslow Avenue.
A passenger in Aguilar’s car was not injured in the shooting or crash.
There is no further suspect or suspect vehicle description at this time.
