Houston Police Seek Two Suspects in February Robberies

Houston police have released surveillance video of two suspects sought in two separate robbery incidents in southwest Houston.

The suspects are described only as two unknown black males in their mid-20s with slim builds. One suspect has short hair and wore a green shirt and dark-colored bottoms. The other suspect had a twists hairstyle and was wearing a dark gray top and dark-colored bottoms. Surveillance video of the suspects is attached to this news release.

The suspects are believed responsible for robberies on the following dates and locations:

• February 24 – 9955 Buffalo Speedway at 3:45 p.m.

• February 25 – 2701 West Bellfort Avenue at 6:55 p.m.
In both incidents, the victims were approached by the suspects who, at gunpoint, stole their personal belongings and their vehicle.

In the Buffalo Speedway incident, the victim was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by a male suspect asking if she wanted to buy marijuana. She told the suspect she did not and the suspect left. The victim waited in her vehicle until the suspect left before exiting her vehicle. As she walked toward her building, she looked back and saw two suspects running at her. One suspect pulled out a gun and demanded her car keys. Both suspects then took her keys and fled the scene in her vehicle. The surveillance video is of this incident.

In the West Bellfort Avenue incident, the female victim had just arrived at her apartment complex with her two children, 10 months and 1 year of age. As she took her 1-year-old to their residence, and was returning to her vehicle, she saw the suspects in her vehicle. backing out of the parking spot. The victim chased the suspects on foot and, as she tried to cut them off, she was struck by the vehicle. The suspects exited the complex parking lot and fled the scene with her 10-month old child in the car. The infant – in a car seat – was later located unharmed by witnesses in the 8900 block of Lakes at 610 Drive. The female victim was treated for minor injuries. There is no video available for this incident.

Investigators believe the two incidents are related, due to the locations being close to each other and the suspect descriptions in both incidents are similar.
