Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) 16 February

On February 14, 2024, around 11:50 PM, an off-duty Police Officer assigned to Northeast Division had a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge while inside his residence.

The officer was preparing his handgun for an upcoming training when he inadvertently discharged one round, striking a bathroom wall. The round penetrated the exterior wall of the residence and came to rest outside. No one was injured as a result of this incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
