Officer-Involved Shooting on Golf Lakes Trail

20 pm, officers were working in an undercover capacity in the area of 9600 block of Golf Lakes Trail. The preliminary investigation determined officers got a Flock camera hit for a stolen vehicle. Covert officers located the stolen vehicle inside the apartment complex and called for uniformed officers. Uniformed officers responded and found the vehicle occupied. When the driver of the vehicle saw the squad car, he stepped on the gas and rammed two marked squad cars. Uniformed officers fired and one male suspect was shot and taken to a local hospital, and he is expected to survive. No officers were injured. Two other suspects were taking into custody at the scene. One suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

A fourth suspect ran from the scene and is not in custody.

The preliminary investigation determined suspects were armed and three suspect weapons were recovered at the scene.

One suspect in custody was wanted on an active Dallas Murder warrant.

The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and Office of Community Police Oversight were notified.

The investigation is ongoing.
