20 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to several calls regarding a man waving a gun at cars passing by in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive. The preliminary investigation determined that upon officers’ arrival, two officers gave verbal commands to the suspect, who pointed a gun at the officers.
Officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect. Officers immediately performed first aid on the suspect until Dallas Fire-Rescue’s arrival. DFR transported the suspect to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

The Dallas County District Attorney’s office was notified and responded to the scene and will conduct their own investigation. The Office of Community Police Oversight was notified and responded to the scene.
