00 a.m., Dallas Police were called for a robbery in progress at 2900 block of South Lancaster Road.
The preliminary investigation determined covert officers arrived, and three suspects ran from the back door of an illegal game room and jumped a fence to where officers had responded.
One of the suspects pointed a gun at an officer.
The officer and suspect struggled, and the officer fired at the suspect, hitting him.
Officers started first aid and called for Dallas Fire Rescue.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Two other suspects ran from the scene but were taken into custody by officers.
No officers were injured.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and Office of Community Police Oversight were notified.
The investigation is ongoing and documented under case numbers 102381-2024, 102431-2024, and 102439-2024.
