On Thursday, February 9, 2023, around 11:45 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Hoover Street, north of Washington Boulevard. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Hoover Street when it collided with the pedestrian. The driver fled the scene, failing to identify themselves, without stopping or rendering aid as required by law.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian is currently in stable condition.
The suspect vehicle is described as a white, four-door 2000-2005 Honda Civic, with dark tinted windows and after-market wheels.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
