40 pm officers responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of Materhorn Dr. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found a man shot inside a house. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, and the victim died from his injuries. Further investigation determined the suspect, 18-year-old Vincent Michael Corral, accidentally shot the victim while holding a handgun. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide. This incident will be documented under case number 217720-2023.
The victim’s identity is not being released pending family notifications.
