Reserve Officer Fired After Child Abuse Arrest

TAMPA, FL (March 23, 2025)- On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the Tampa Police Department terminated a volunteer Reserve Officer following an arrest related to an off-duty incident.

On March 22, 2025, the juvenile victim, accompanied by an adult, reported an altercation involving Ada Terman Paulino. The victim told police that three days earlier Terman Paulino hit her in the face multiple times and choked her as she struggled to breathe. The victim sustained minor physical injuries that were still visible. The victim and Terman Paulino are known to each other.

The incident did not occur while Terman Paulino was performing official duties. She was arrested by Tampa Police and charged with Child Abuse.

Terman Paulino, who joined the department as a Reserve Officer in 2022, was immediately relieved of duty and has since been terminated.

Reserve Officers are volunteer members of the department trained to assist with emergencies and special events, enabling full-time patrol officers to remain focused on patrol responsibilities.
