Dallas Police
55 p.m., Dallas Police were called to a disturbance in the 1900 block of Riverway Drive. The preliminary investigation determined that when officers arrived, they found the victim, Veronica Lopez, 69, who appeared to have been shot. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The suspect, 77-year-old Francisco Amaya, was arrested and charged with Murder. The suspect and victim were known to one another. This investigation is ongoing and documented under case number 174916-2024.
