The Powerball jackpot has risen to an estimated $613 million after no one was able to match all six numbers in the drawing held on Saturday, January 28. The winning numbers for the draw were 2, 18, 23, 27, 47, and the Powerball was 15, with a Power Play multiplier of 4X.
Despite the high jackpot, the odds of winning the Powerball grand prize are still incredibly slim, with a chance of 1 in 292.2 million. However, there were still some winners from the January 28 drawing. Three tickets matched all five numbers except for the Powerball, worth $1 million each, and were purchased in Missouri, New York, and Pennsylvania. One ticket bought in Texas matched all five numbers except for the Powerball and added the Power Play, worth $2 million.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and to enter the game, players select five numbers from one to 69 for the white balls and one number from one to 26 for the red Powerball. To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls and the red Powerball. There are also eight additional ways to win a Powerball prize across the game’s non-jackpot tiers, depending on the number of balls matched.
The next Powerball drawing will be held on Monday, January 30, with an estimated jackpot of $613 million. The lump sum payment for the prize is $329 million.
