Dallas Police
37 p.m., officers responded to a Disturbance Emergency with an Ambulance in the 6500 block of Wofford Drive. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived that the victim, James John Vara, 26, and arrestee, Benjamin Muniz Jr., 25, had been involved in a fight. During the fight, Vara fell, hitting his head. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, and Vara died at the scene.
Muniz was transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with Murder.
This remains an ongoing investigation and will be documented on case number 166554-2024.
