Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 11921 Bissonnet Street about 1:20 a.m. on October 27.
The suspect, Isaiah Keith Bisengimana, 19, is charged with murder in the 178th State District Court. A booking photo of Bisengimana is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the killing of Mario Villanueva, 19, and the wounding of another man, 32.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detectives R. Lujan, A. Ledford and E. Camacho reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a strip center at the above address and found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Villanueva, deceased. A second man with gunshot wounds was transported by paramedics to the hospital in stable condition.
Detectives learned a gathering was being hosted at the location when a physical altercation ensued. At some point, a firearm was produced and multiple shots were fired into the crowd. Both victims were struck by the gunfire.
Further investigation identified Bisengimana as the suspect in this case. On Wednesday (Nov.13), Bisengimana was charged in this fatal shooting. He was already in custody in the Harris County Jail on charges in a separate case.
