Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting at 3135 Akard Street about 6:05 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 20).
The suspect, Zariah Nicole Green, 21, is charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court. A booking photo of Green is attached to this news release.
The identity of the male victim, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives G. Range and J. Meister reported:
Officers responded to a shooting at a convenience store at the above address. Upon arrival they found the male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds and he was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Further investigation identified Green as the suspect in this case and she was located nearby. After speaking with Green, HPD officers consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and a murder charge was accepted. She was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
