TAMPA, FL. (December 24, 2024) – – On Dec. 24, 2024, Tampa Police arrested 24-year-old Michael Horace-Fleming in connection with a December 5th shooting on E. Sitka St. that resulted in one fatality and left two others seriously injured.

The incident occurred just after 9:30 pm, when officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 1700 block of E. Sitka St. Upon arrival, they discovered three adult black male victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. All three were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Days later, one of the victims, a 28-year-old man, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The investigation was then reclassified as a homicide. The other two victims, aged 27 and 21, have since been released from the hospital and are continuing to recover.

Through meticulous investigation, detectives identified Michael Horace-Fleming (black male, 12/26/1999) as a primary suspect. The shooting was not believed to be a random act of violence.

On Dec. 24th, the Tampa Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, working in partnership with the US Marshals Task Force, arrested Horace-Fleming at his residence in Temple Terrace without incident.

A Glock 23 firearm, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, was recovered from Horace-Fleming’s vehicle and seized as evidence.

Horace-Fleming was charged with First Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Shooting At/Into/Within a Building. He is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail.

“This arrest brings a measure of justice to the victims of this senseless act of violence,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Our city is safer with this dangerous suspect off the streets. I commend the dedication and tireless work of our detectives, the US Marshals Task Force, and all involved in this investigation and apprehension.”

This investigation remains ongoing. Detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are still working to identify and speak with the reported second person who was seen at the time of the shooting to determine what, if anything, they may know about this incident.
