On October 18, 2023 at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers responded to the 9400 block of N 9th St. in reference to a subject who suffered upper body trauma.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the victim, an adult black male, was in a physical altercation with several unknown subjects, when one of the subjects shot at the victim.
Upon officers arrival, the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
At this time, detectives have made contact with several witnesses who may be involved in the incident.
The investigation remains active and additional updates will be provided as they become available.
