Task Force Seizes Drugs, Stolen Guns

Dallas Police

The Dallas Police Department’s Violent Crime Reduction Plan continues to make a significant impact in the reduction of violent crime in Dallas.

On October 16th, the Place Network Investigation (PNI) Unit, along with our SWAT Team, Gang Unit, and officers from Southeast Patrol, served a warrant at an apartment in the 2600 block of Jeffries Street. The results include recovering six stolen firearms, five people being arrested, and confiscating 21 pounds of marijuana, THC wax, 300 grams of methamphetamine pills, promethazine, cocaine, and psilocybin, or “mushroom” chocolate bars.

The investigation leading to the arrests and drug seizure stemmed from identifying people frequenting areas known for criminal activity – a place network investigation.

Lorenzo Hicks, 27; Brandon Hall, 22; Dalarry Runnels, 19; Brynae Jones, 27; and Ricky Morrison, 24, were all arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Manufacture/Delivery of Methamphetamine, Manufacture/Delivery of THC Wax and Manufacture/Delivery of Cocaine.

The Violent Crime Reduction Plan was put into action in 2021 as a data-driven and holistic approach to enhancing public safety across the City of Dallas. The Department continues to review, adjust, and act on the data collected to best serve our community.
