Update: Video Shows Suspects in 2900 Westridge Death

Houston police have released surveillance video of three male suspects wanted in the death of a male found at 2900 Westridge Street about 1:10 a.m. on March 2.

All three suspects are described as black males. One suspect is seen wearing a white t-shirt and green shorts. The second suspect is wearing a black sweater with an orange design, black pants and blue shoes. The third suspect is seen wearing a black sweater, black shorts and carrying a pink bag. Surveillance video of the wanted suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Gavin Melchor, 24.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault in-progress call at a strip center parking lot at the above address and found an unresponsive male near the driveway of the strip center. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicated the male was possibly involved in an argument and was assaulted by an unknown male suspect(s).

Investigators later learned the male was robbed by the suspect in the white shirt, kicked in the head by the suspect wearing a black sweater with an orange design, and knocked unconscious by the suspect carrying a pink bag.
